Home Services · Field Notes Co
A home services company had outgrown their Wix site and Calendly chain. We rebuilt the front door and the back office: ranking #1 locally with a custom booking system wired straight into ops.
Field Notes is a regional home services company that had been growing the hard way: a Wix landing page, a Calendly link, a Google Sheet shared with the dispatcher, and a daily group text to the crews. Every step worked individually. Together they were leaking jobs.
They wanted to fix three things at once: rank higher locally, take bookings online without a phone call, and stop losing jobs in the gap between "booked" and "scheduled."
We rebuilt their digital presence from the front door inward.
The website
A new Next.js site with proper local SEO foundations: structured data for every service area and offering, a service-area landing page per city they cover, fast page loads (sub-1s LCP), and conversion-tuned booking flows on every page.
The booking system
We replaced Calendly with a custom booking flow that knows their actual constraints — crew availability, drive time between jobs, service-specific duration windows, and pricing tiers. Customers see real availability, not a generic 30-minute grid.
The dispatch app
A simple internal web app the dispatcher and crews use on their phones. Drag-and-drop daily schedule, automatic SMS to customers when crews are 30 minutes out, photo upload from the field for the customer record. Everything writes to the same database the booking system reads from — no more spreadsheets.
"Last August we lost something like 12 jobs because the spreadsheet got out of sync with the calendar. This August we ran 40% more jobs through the same dispatcher."
The numbers from the first three months:
Their data is now clean enough that the next obvious move is predictive — looking at booking patterns to spot capacity bottlenecks before they happen, and using AI to draft personalized re-engagement to past customers based on seasonality. We're scoping that for Q3.
