Why we don't sell strategy decks, and what we sell instead.
By The CoolNerd team
Most consulting engagements end with a deck. Ours don't.
When a client comes to us, they're usually past the point where another strategy document would help. They know what hurts. They know roughly what they want. What they're missing is the shortest path between where they are and a system that actually solves it.
That gap is where we live.
We don't do months-long discovery. If after two weeks of working with you we can't draft a clear plan, the engagement isn't going to work for either of us.
We don't write code that someone else has to maintain in secret. Every system we ship is documented, observable, and explained to the team that will live with it.
We don't sell hours. We sell outcomes. If the build is faster than we estimated, the client doesn't get a refund — but if it's slower, we don't get more money either. That alignment matters.
Shadow the actual workflow. Process docs lie. We sit with the people doing the work and watch what they actually do, where they actually get stuck.
Ship in weeks. If it would take six months to deliver value, we'll find a smaller surface area that delivers value in six weeks and build the rest from there.
Stay close after launch. The biggest wins compound. Small monthly retainers let us tune, expand, and add the next thing without a new SOW for every change.
We work with founder-led businesses. The people who hire us already wear too many hats. The last thing they need is another vendor who turns a project into a project management job.
So we run lean. Three to four active engagements at a time. Senior people owning every build. Outcomes you can measure on a single line.
That's the shortest path.
